Thursday's post "Airshow"

Good morning. This should have been posted on Tuesday but busy after the BH just got in the way.

Sunday I went to Headcorn airfield to see a friend's son jump out of a perfectly good plane.  His choice.

When we got there they had an air display and a classic car meet one, this was not known to us. My friend (not the one jumping) has a damaged tendon at the back of his knee and can't walk too far. So we didn't bother with the cars. We set u at the cafe and stayed there until his son did his jump. This is where I took my photos.

Not my friends son

These next two were taken last year with better weather

As you can see I have a real thing about the Spitfire.

  1. Oh, those beautiful clouds! Probably not good for the flyers and jumpers, but they sure are great for the camera!

Great musical selections. Thanks for sharing.

    1. They were jumping at 12000 ft well above the cloud

  2. Great pictures! I like the clouds in the background, too! It takes a brave person to jump out of an airplane. My mother’s friend did that. She wanted to face her fears and so she did. I was DEEEBEE on the 10k team.

  7. Don’t like heights, so I won’t be jumping out of any perfectly good planes soon, either!
    😳🪂

    I like spitfires, too.

Closer to home, the US Army fighters practice overhead in their F16s, nearly every weekday. Specifically below-radar flight. The pines here are about 80ft high. They sweep down lower than that, where there are bogs, interrupting the forest.

Sometimes they are so close, I can see every one of the little antennae sticking out. And the face of the pilot. 😳

H swears they are messing with us, or use the house as a landmark. The maneuvers are kind of crazy, too. Barrel rolls, etc. One particularly low one flew by upside down.

  9. Great photos! The spitfires are classic. I love how Andre Rieu makes an orchestra presentation so pleasant. Beautiful music/songs.

  10. Awesome pictures!

Andre’s Irish Waasherwoman was fantastic! The kids looked like they were having fun playing along w/him.

    Silence is Golden . . . . classis and I love it.

Frank Sinatra’s Come Fly With Me – classic. Loved it.

Ghost’s Main theme – loved it and the movie!

    The other videos didn’t play.

  11. Great pics! I haven't been to an air show in years. I would love to go to one again. I'd also love to jump out of a perfectly good plane. It's on my bucket list.
